Richard Ford (February 16, 1944- ) is an American novelist and short story writer. His right-known works include a novels The Sportswriter, its award-winning sequel Independence Day, and a widely-anthologized short story "Rock Springs."

Early Life
Ford was innate inside Jackson, Mississippi, the only boy of the traveling salesman for the starch company.
